Finisher Medal Unveiled for 45th Irish Life Dublin Marathon, Honouring the Heritage, City and People Who Define the Event
OCTOBER 2, 2026
The 2026 Irish Life Dublin Marathon finisher medal has been unveiled, kick-starting Marathon Month as excitement builds towards race day on Sunday the 25th of October. The medal design marks a historic milestone for one of Ireland’s largest mass participation events, celebrating the 45th running of the Dublin Marathon , the city and the people behind it.
This milestone year takes centre stage in the medal design, honouring a defining moment for the event as it heads toward its 50th anniversary. The number 45 is enclosed by an Olympic laurel wreath, a long-standing symbol of sporting greatness, linking this year’s finishers’ achievement to the enduring heritage and tradition that have shaped the Marathon since 1980.
Dublin is equally integral to the design, and the cityscape in the medal’s background tells the story of the city behind every mile. It brings together historic and modern elements of the capital, reflecting a city that has evolved alongside the Marathon.
