2027 Irish Life Dublin Marathon

KEY DETAILS

• Race Date: Sunday 24 October 2027
• Location: Dublin City Centre, starting on Leeson Street Lower
• Start Time: 8.45am
• Event Capacity: 22,500 runners
• General Entry Places: 17,200 places will be available through the public ballot – the same number as in 2026.
• Entry Fee: €130 + platform and payment processing fees
  
  

GENERAL ENTRY BALLOT

• Ballot Opens: 9am, Thursday 12 November 2026
• Ballot Closes: Midnight, Tuesday 17 November 2026
• Ballot Fee: €4 + platform and payment processing fees. The €4 ballot fee will be automatically refunded to unsuccessful applicants and offset against the €130 Marathon entry fee for successful applicants. Platform and payment processing fees are separate and are not refundable or offset.
• Ballot Results: Applicants will be notified of their ballot result on Wednesday 25 November 2026.
• Successful Applicants: Successful applicants will have until midnight on Monday 30th November to complete and pay for their entry.
  
  

REFUND

• Refund Window: Thursday 1 July – Monday 12 July 2027
• Refund Fee: €20 (plus platform and payment processing fees)
  
  

RESALE

• Resale: Entries will be resold on a first-come-first-serve basis on Wednesday 14 July
  
  

TRANSFER

• Transfer Window: Wednesday 21 July – Wednesday 22 September 2027
• Transfer Fee: €20 (plus platform and payment processing fees)
  
  

PREGNANCY/POSTPARTUM DEFERRALS

• While Dublin Marathon Group don’t allow deferrals, if you are unable to take part because you are pregnant or postpartum, you can defer your place to one of the following three years. To obtain a pregnancy or postpartum deferral, the race entrant will need to submit a pregnancy or postpartum deferral request no later than 14 days before race day to office@dublinmarathon.ie.
  

GOOD FOR AGE

• Qualifying Criteria Published: Tuesday 1 December, 2026
• Eligible Results: Qualifying performances from eligible races in 2025, 2026 or 2027.
• Applications Open: Friday 7 May 2027
• Applications Close: Wednesday 26 May 2027
• Results: Runners will be notified from Wednesday 2 June 2027. If more applications are received than places available, the fastest qualifying times in each category will be successful.
  
  

OFFICIAL CHARITY PLACES

• Charity Places Available: From Monday 26 October 2026
• Official Charity Partner: realbuzz
• Official Charities: More than 200 charities from Ireland and around the world. Runners can apply for a guaranteed place with one of the official charity partners through realbuzz. Places are subject to the relevant charity’s fundraising requirements.
  
  

ADDITIONAL ENTRY ROUTES

Alongside the general ballot, Good for Age and official charity places, entries will also be allocated through elite athlete entry, the Dublin Marathon Group Community Programme, approved official international tour operators, and sponsor and partner allocations.
