Brady and Wilson Cruise to Victory at Sold-Out Irish Life Fingal 10K

Thousands of Runners Take to the Streets of Swords to Kick-Start 2026 Irish Life Dublin Race Series.
Local Man Michael Brady and Wexford’s Ciara Wilson Storm Clear to Claim Fingal 10K Titles
Thousands of runners of all abilities gathered today for another sold-out edition of the Irish Life Fingal 10K, kick-starting the 2026 Irish Life Dublin Race Series under sunny Swords skies.
Local Swords runner Michael Brady (Raheny Shamrock A.C) comfortably took the men’s title in 30:51, knocking four seconds off his personal best despite the humid conditions. With the performance today Brady improved on his podium place from last year where he finished third, and he was incredibly proud to claim victory in his hometown.
“I’m a very proud Swords man and have been running these roads around Balheary for the last six years. I came third here last year so this is very special,” said Brady.
Brady’s title win was a convincing one, finishing over 90 seconds ahead of non-club runner Eamonn Flannery who claimed second place in an impressive 32:26. Brady’s clubmate David Rooney rounded off the men’s podium finishing third in 33:01.
The women’s race saw another clear winner in the shape of Wexford’s Ciara Wilson (DMP A.C). The Dublin-based schoolteacher ran a strong 34:55 where she was then reunited with her eight-month-old daughter Danú, and her partner and coach Dan Roe.
“It was very windy but a lovely scenic course and it’s fantastic to win it. The Dublin Race Series are such well-run and well-supported events and the crowd cheering on the last kilometre really helped get me home,” said Wilson.
Wilson topped a triathlete-dominated podium, finishing 87 seconds ahead of Sarah Diamond (Kilcoole A.C). Diamond ran 36:22, earning back-to-back silver medals after she finished runner-up at triathlon’s National Sprint Championships in Longford on Saturday. Carolyn Hayes (West Limerick A.C) placed third in 37:54, and had previously represented Ireland in triathlon at the Tokyo Olympics.
With first-time participants, club athletes and recreational runners crossing the line today, the Irish Life Fingal 10K continues to be a fan-favourite, offering a positive race experience for those of all abilities. Today’s event captured the unique atmosphere of the Irish Life Dublin Race Series, where local community and competition come together as the road to marathon day begins.
After a thrilling start to the series, excitement will already be building for Saturday 15th August when thousands of runners will return to Phoenix Park for the Irish Life Frank Duffy 10 Mile. Following on from that, the iconic Irish Life Dublin Marathon will take place on Sunday 20th September, completing the series.
