Charity fundraising has always been at the heart of the Dublin Marathon, with over €9 million raised each year by our amazing runners. Now with the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2022, we’ve introduced an all-new charity programme that will take our fundraising efforts to new heights!
We’ve teamed up with leading charity fundraising experts the Realbuzz Group to invite over Irish and international charities to the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2022 charity programme. Now you can run and raise for these amazing causes and create even more marathon memories to remember.
You’re no longer running this race alone – you’re running shoulder with a whole team of charity runners, all working together to reach the finish line and raise money for an amazing cause. Your chosen charity will be with you every step of the way, offering you all the support you need during your training and fundraising, race day and beyond!
You’ll receive a whole host of benefits as a charity runner. These vary from charity to charity and between charity place and own place runners, but here’s the type of thing you can expect:
There are two ways to become a charity runner:
If you haven’t got an entry to the event, you can apply for an exclusive charity place with one of our partner charities. Click the charity listings link below to see a list of the charities you can support, and submit an application telling them why you want to support them. Once your application is successful, your charity will be in touch and you’ll be set your minimum fundraising target. All that’s left to do then is train, fundraise and race!
Already got your own place in the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2022? You can still raise money for one of our fantastic partner charities! As you already have your own place in the event, your charity won’t need to use one of their limited charity places, meaning they can recruit even more fundraisers for their team. As an own place runner you’ll still get plenty of support from your charity, and you’ll have a lower fundraising target.
When you get a charity place, you’ll agree on a fundraising target with your chosen charity. The typical fundraising amount for a charity place runner is €1,500 – this will make a huge difference to your charity, and enable them to carry on their life-saving work.
With the support of your charity you’ll easily be able to fit your fundraising around your training efforts, and you’ll have so much fun along the way. From bake sales to bucket collections, there are so many exciting and effective ways to fundraise.
