Sold Out Irish Life Fingal 10K to Kick-Start 2026 Irish Life Dublin Race Series with Over 4,000 Entrants

The Irish Life Fingal 10K returns on Sunday, July 12th, at 9:30 AM and will see thousands of runners take to the streets of Swords for the start of the 2026 Irish Life Dublin Race Series.
Having sold out back in April, the event maintains its reputation as one of Dublin’s most popular summer races, kick-starting a series of exciting events taking place in the build-up to the 45th Irish Life Dublin Marathon in October.
Whether chasing a personal best, or looking to get their summer training underway for the marathon, the fast but challenging route is consistently popular with runners of all abilities, and in 2026 over 4,000 runners have signed up.
Starting and finishing on Balheary Road outside of Swords Village, the route will take runners on a loop around the outskirts of town before they are welcomed across the finish line by supporters, spectators and volunteers. In 2026, Sports Direct, the Official Pacing Team Partner of Dublin Marathon Group, will provide official pacers targeting finish times of 45, 50, 55 and 60 minutes. Pacers will be easily identifiable in the start area by branded pacing balloons displaying their respective target finish times.”
As Dublin Marathon Group continue to create more opportunities for first-time and new runners to take part, race day pacing and other runner-support initiatives are increasingly important parts of the experience.
Competing for the men’s title on Sunday will likely be Jamie Fallon (Craughwell A.C), who ran a 10K personal best in December at the Fields of Athenry 10K in 30:34. Fallon will be challenged by Wayne Waldron (Donore Harriers A.C) who finished last year’s Irish Life Fingal 10K in 33:02.
In the women’s race, Rachel Birt of Annalee A.C will be in contention again after finishing second in this race last year in 37:17. Raheny Shamrock A.C stalwart Fiona Stack will be looking to finish on the podium after strong 2025 performances in this race, the Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon, and the Irish Life Dublin Marathon. Noreen Brouder (Sportsworld A.C) is also expected to pose a challenge for the women’s title.
There will be €3,500 available in prize funds for individuals up to 10th place, as well as €2,500 in for Masters runners.

After the Irish Life Fingal 10K, the series will continue to provide premier road races through the summer and all the way to the 45th Irish Life Dublin Marathon in October. The beautiful Phoenix Park will host the Irish Life Frank Duffy 10 Mile on Saturday, 15th August, as well as the iconic Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon on Sunday 20th September.
